"Stampede to Tallahassee"

TAMPA, Fla. (Sept. 23, 2009) – When the historic football game between the University of South Florida and Florida State University gets under way Sept. 26 in Tallahassee, hundreds of USF students will be in the stands to cheer on their beloved Bulls thanks to free buses provided by USF Student Government. As many as 300 students will “Stampede to Tallahassee” by leaving the driving to their bus drivers and loaded down with free snacks, courtesy of the Alumni Association, to what is being billed as a safe tailgating location near the FSU stadium. The first round of tickets was awarded via lottery, remaining tickets via registration.

“USF’s student body has an amazing opportunity to show not only the state of Florida, but also the rest of the nation our commitment to our school with our strong presence at this very important game,” said Juan Carlos Soltero, USF Student Body President. “We’re thrilled we were able to provide this way for so many of us to travel together. Our school spirit is going to be something for the Seminoles to contend with.”

Students can still request tickets to the game online via www.gousfbulls.com and there they can indicate if they would be interested in riding the free bus.

The University of South Florida System is one of the nation's top 63 public research universities and one of 39 community-engaged, four-year public universities as designated by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.
