Three-Year Decline in Crime Continues
TAMPA, Fla. (Sept. 22, 2009) – The University of South Florida Police Department today reports a 32 per cent drop in crime during the past three years and a 23 percent increase in arrests. The award-winning department credits additional funding and proactive policing initiatives such as DUI checkpoints and added patrolling for the steady improvement in statistics.
