Russell Receives Grant to Design and Build Zero Energy Home
TAMPA, Fla. (June 15, 2009) – Stanley Russell, assistant professor in the USF School of Architecture and Community Design, has been awarded a three year grant totaling just over $344,000 to design and build a zero energy home learning center.
Although there have been several zero energy homes built across the country, there are few examples that have dealt effectively with Florida’s hot and humid climate. The learning center will be a place for USF students and faculty and members of the community to go and learn about ZEH strategies and the latest technologies available.
The ZEH project is a product of the Florida Energy Systems Consortium grant.
