Media Innovation Team Receives Telly Awards
TAMPA, Fla. (June 15, 2009) – The Media Innovation Team, part of the Center for 21st Century Teaching Excellence at USF, received three Telly Awards in recognition of its work on the USF 2009 Faculty and Staff Campaign video, which can be seen at: http://usfweb2.usf.edu/fscc/flash/2009/.
The video, produced in conjunction with Todd Marrs, Associate Director of Annual Giving at USF, received Silver Telly Awards for use of HD and use of graphics, and a Bronze Telly for fundraising. The Silver Telly is the Telly Awards highest honor.
The MIT also received a fourth (bronze) Telly Award in recognition for The Competent Manager Series. This original, instructional webisode series was created, written and produced by the MIT @C21TE and Rosemary B. Closson, Ph.D., Assistant Professor in the College of Education.
“When I began converting my Program Management course to an online version I tried to think of ways to make it engaging as well as a sound learning experience,” said Closson. “Although creating video vignettes was an idea I had, my collaboration with USF’s MIT resulted in a product that far exceeded my expectations. I was delighted with the effort [they] went to in order to perfect the lessons I wanted to communicate in each vignette. For the series to be honored by receiving a Telly Award is a delight beyond measure.”
