USF's United Way Campaign Tops Giving Goal
TAMPA, Fla. (Feb. 13, 2009) -- The 2008 USF United Way Campaign (Tampa Campus) has wrapped up after raising $66,508, surpassing last year's total by more than $1,600.
“Our employees generously give back to the community in many ways, including time and money, and United Way is an important community partner,” said Sandy Lovins, USF's United Way Campaign Chair. “Every dollar counts, especially in a challenging economic climate. This year, our USF employees not only increased their giving, but the number of employees supporting United Way grew as well.”
United Way of Tampa Bay and its partner agencies provide assistance each year to more than 600,000 men, women and children throughout Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties, including help with basic needs like food, clothing and shelter, programs for children, youth, families and seniors, financial education, emergency relief services, community development and more.
